Standard Cleaning In Queens, NY
Your regular visit — every room to a consistent standard, with the building already cleared.
About Our Standard Cleaning
Standard Cleaning is the routine visit most central Queens households put on a repeating schedule and then stop thinking about. Your cleaner follows a fixed room-by-room checklist — dusting, sanitizing, mopping and tidying — so the result is identical every time. In a co-op building the practical advantage is that the access side is settled once at the start: certificate of insurance filed, cleaner on the approved list, elevator arrangement agreed, and then it simply runs.
The apartments along Queens Boulevard and Yellowstone are generously proportioned by modern standards and frequently pre-war, which means original parquet, plaster detail and bathroom tile that predates the war. None of that responds well to a modern all-purpose cleaner used across every surface. Parquet gets a neutral soap and a damp mop rather than flooding; plaster cornices get an extension pole rather than a ladder leaned against the wall; original tile and enamel get non-abrasives only. Alongside that, the same apartments have a thoroughly modern problem — hard water leaving a film on fixtures and shower screens — which needs a descaling agent rather than more effort.
South of Austin Street the job changes completely. A Forest Hills Gardens or Kew Gardens house brings leaded and stained glass, oak beams and paneling, original casements and slate or clay-tile detailing, on privately maintained streets with their own access conventions. A Richmond Hill Victorian brings 1870s pine floors, heavy newel posts and coal-era mantels. We work slower in those homes and we ask about every material before we touch it, because a good deal of what's in them cannot be replaced.
The visit runs top to bottom so nothing settles onto ground already covered, and in a house from the top floor down. Everything arrives with the cleaner. Most of our clients aren't home — a key, a lockbox, or an arrangement with the doorman is the usual thing, and once your cleaner is on the building's approved list access stops being a topic at all. Your flat rate is agreed before we arrive and doesn't move, there's no stair surcharge, and if a visit falls short we'll return within 24 hours and put it right free.
